Cruise to Fuerte Amador
Okay here's a confession: We had no idea what to expect either when we first cruised to Panama City, docking first at the port at Fuerte Amador. The city sits on the southern, Pacific end of the Panama Canal, that much we knew. And that we'd soon be sailing the Canal—an adventurous dream for cruise lovers. We knew nothing about the Casco Viejo historic district, with its galleries and great restaurants, or the incredible number of modern high-rises dotting the skyline, or that the multicultural mix of locals was so friendly, or that the duty-free shopping was so wonderful. But we do now and we couldn't be happier about it—and those who visit will, too.
