Cruise to Kona

There are worse places to be stranded. For the ancient Polynesians, the Big Island was the first spot they set foot on in the Hawaiian islands, nearly 1,500 years ago. Today, it remains the biggest island but the least visited. While sans the glamour of Maui or the hustle and bustle of Oahu, the lack of tourist hoards means you get the island all to yourself. And what an island it is, from pristine beaches to volcanoes to remnants of the first Hawaiian settlements. Bigger is sometimes better, especially if it means true peace and tranquility.
