Cruise to Hilo
It may be wet from the rain that falls almost daily, but all that moisture gives Hilo a lush, green look that makes it a tropical paradise. That rain also creates spectacular waterfalls, which when the sun hits them create another visual wonder-rainbows. Leave the coast and head inland to see Kilauea, an active volcano that's erupting daily and currently adding to the Big Island's landmass as lava makes it way downhill to the ocean. The black sand on the beaches creates a vibrant contrast to the turquoise water that's home to tropical fish and green sea turtles, while the fresh produce found on the island inspires chefs from around the world to create exotic masterpieces. And when you're done with all your exploring, relax with a mai tai or sweet and refreshing shave ice.
