Cruise to Norfolk

Since it was founded in 1682, Norfolk, VA, has been tied to the water. The city is home to the largest naval station in the world — the 75 ships of the U.S. Navy's Naval Station Norfolk — and a diversity of commercial shipping, too. Add cruising to the mix, with Carnival sailing to the Bahamas from Norfolk's Half Moone Cruise And Celebration Center. On shore, there's a resurgent downtown — the restaurants, bars and cultural attractions are all well worth exploring in Norfolk. So is shopping in the boutiques and antique stores of the city's Ghent neighborhood. It'll be hard to keep Norfolk's charms a secret all to yourself.
