Though she's long been eclipsed by Royal Caribbean's bigger, newer, flashier ships, Grandeur still holds her own as a midsize workhorse, providing relatively low-cost getaways for families and couples to some of the cruise world's most popular destinations. There's a bit of a time machine feel to the experience, transporting you back to the interior cruise architecture of the 1990s, but judicious upgrades, new amenities and au courant entertainment help anchor you to the present day.

Grandeur of the Seas OVERVIEW

One of Royal Caribbean's oldest and smallest vessels, Grandeur of the Seas has seen her share of both hard use and diligent maintenance — the latter most significantly via a major 2012 refurbishment that added a slew of new amenities and attractions to Grandeur of the Seas first developed for Royal's biggest-in-history Oasis and Allure. Cabins and existing public spaces were also spruced up in the process, resulting in a vessel that, while saddled with 1990s proportions, still manages to reflect and cater to the tastes of today’s cruisers. From its active Centrum atrium and outdoor movie screen to its baby nursery and quiet, adults-only Solarium, Grandeur offers big-ship options in what today passes for a relatively small package.
