Pacific Princess

Moderate Small SET SAIL 1999
The longer, more world-ranging itineraries
Beautiful library with mahogany paneling & high-back chairs
The 2-story lobby with central staircase similar to Titanic
The Casino Bar, the perfect and relaxing evening spot
Pacific is compact, cozy and very sociable!

Like Holland America's smallish Statendam class, Pacific Princess is often deployed on longer, more world-ranging itineraries, including world cruises. The combination of these longer itineraries with the smallish size of the vessel tends to draw a generally older clientele. The fact that the ship offers no regularly scheduled kids' programming means it draws very few families with young children. Translation: Pacific Princess is a ship for older travelers.

Pacific Princess OVERVIEW

Along with sister ship Ocean Princess, the cozy Pacific Princess is the odd ship out in the Princess fleet, measuring in at less than half the size of her nearest fleetmates, with not much more than a quarter the size of Princess Cruises' largest vessels. Acquired by Princess from the fleet of defunct Renaissance Cruises, Pacific and Ocean Princess are nearly identical to Oceania Cruises' Regatta and Nautica. Like all the former Renaissance vessels, Pacific Princess is a quiet, well-mannered ship, with the glitz-free look of a traditional upscale hotel. The emphasis is on intimate spaces where guests can lounge and mingle without ever having to shout to be heard over the music. Clubby and upscale, she's got enough entertainment, activities and dining options to keep things varied, but not so many that they compete with your unstructured relaxation.
