Filling that adventure need on the rock-climbing wall

Norwegian Gem is a grand mid-range cruise ship.  She satisfies guests who aren’t into a lot of rules or pomp, as the atmosphere is most decidedly carefree—from dress to attitude. Deluxe restaurants and the solid range of port calls—plus the departure from New York—are among the aspects that  boost her overall appeal.

Norwegian Gem OVERVIEW

Part of Norwegian Cruise Line’s Jewel class of ships, Norwegian Gem is aptly named. She participates in the line’s Freestyle Cruising way of life, where guests decide how formal or informal they’d like their sailing to be. In fact, Gem is perfect for those who prefer a more laid-back experience. Set dining times and assigned seating in the restaurants don’t exist; dress codes are lenient; and the focus is on amusement across all 15 decks. Even though she was “born” in 2007, Norwegian Gem went through the company-wide Freestyle 2.0 overhaul just two years later, with improvements that include dining, bedding and the easy-breezy cruising M.O.
