Cruise News: Jedis and Walkers Set Sail and Private Beach Parties With Pitbull
Want to feel the power of The Force first-hand? The good news is that you don’t need to travel to a galaxy far, far away to do it. Disney Cruise Line has introduced Star Wars Day at Sea aboard Disney Fantasy. On select Western Caribbean sailings from January through April, Disney Cruise Line transforms one day of your trip into a (figuratively) out of this world experience. You can master your lightsaber skills in a Jedi Training Academy, hang out with Darth Vader and Chewbacca and watch an at-sea only showing of Episode IV (if you’re like me, it won’t be your first time watching it).
Pitbull is taking his talents to Norwegian Pearl—and in true 305 fashion, it’ll be nothing short of a total party from start to finish. Departing from Miami March 10-13, 2017, you’ll make a stop in Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas for a private beach party. The f-u-n continues with exclusive performances from Pitbull and a few of his friends (who are a surprise, for now). Sure, you’ll have to wait a year for this epic dance party, but this voyage has potential to sell out quickly. Festival pre-sale begins in late February, so secure your spot to cruise with Pitbull ASAP.
From the unbelievable to the undead:
Zombies may possess questionable motor skills and diet choices, but they enjoy a Caribbean getaway as much as the next human. Sixthman is bringing the famed Walker Stalker Con aboard Norwegian Pearl on January 15-18, 2016. Guests will get to attend Q&A panels with actors from AMC’s The Walking Dead, including Norman Reedus (Daryl), Emily Kinney (Beth) and Chad L. Coleman (Tyreese). If you're taking part in this sold-out event, you'll have the opportunity to show off your best zombie costume and makeup (just not on boarding day, since you’ll need your picture taken for your keycard). Plus, there will be makeup artists on-hand offering Zombie Make-Up Experiences so you can look the part like a pro.
Cunard Line just announced some major accommodation upgrades aboard the luxurious Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth ships. Guests who book between now and February 29th have access to perks such as free stateroom upgrades, free drinks in the Grill Suites and free gratuities for two. This upgrade deal only applies to select voyages.
If you’re a fan of authentic Mediterranean cuisine and exotic destinations, get your bags (and appetite) ready. Regent, known for its indulgent dining allure, is expanding its foodie appeal in port by offering culinary-inspired shore excursions to select destinations on its newest ship, Seven Seas Explorer. Local tour guides will transport you through iconic Mediterranean spots with a chance to learn from some of Europe’s premier chefs along your journey. Among the 22 food tours offered are a cooking demonstration in the Tuscan countryside, a chance to dine at Michelin 3-star restaurant La Vague d’Or in the heart of Saint Tropez, wine tasting at Cave Bianchi in gorgeous Nice and an intimate 7-course luncheon in the Spanish village of Madremanya. These gourmet tours are exclusive to Seven Seas Explorer, but you’ll have to pay an additional fee for it (they’re not included in the ship’s free shore excursions).
